If you have a special event why not set it off with offering pump trolley rides?

Whether it be a corporate event, enthusiast gala or a family event, no one can resist living out a childhood fantasy of riding on a pump trolley.The pump trolley is also available for filming contracts.

In the past the pump trolley has starred at family events in London, opened new rail terminals in the North East and been a film star in the North West. If you're unsure if your event or location is suitable, just get in touch to talk it through.

Off site visits can take place in two formats:

Pump Trolley only

For rail connected sites, be they heritage or commercial railways, we are able to supply the pump trolley. Transport is included in the hire agreement and the pump trolley will be staffed by a trained operative all the time it is use. Depending on the event, our friendly and knowledgable volunteers are able to bring along railway memorabilia and interesting artifacts for all ages. Participants can stamp their own old fashioned tickets before boarding and wave the pump trolley away with a green flag if required!

 

Trolley and Track hire

Most people don’t simply have a railway at their disposal to run a pump trolley on. With this in mind we have constructed 30m of light weight portable track. This can be built on nearly any firm and flat ground in a matter of hours by our team. It comes with a loading platform so participants can easily access the trolley. This format has enabled us to attend events and sites where other full sized railway exhibits would not be possible in the past. As with hiring the trolley by itself, our team can provide as much support as required.

  

Other optional extras

Depending on the size and scope of your event there are a diverse amount of additional attractions we may be able to bring. We can be flexible 

We are also able to supply a ride on miniature railway. As with the pump trolley track itself we have a length of portable aluminium rail enabling us to give out and back rides.

The Night Mail Group specialises in the portrayal of Mail by Rail. To tell this story in its entirity we have a number of road vehicles. Everything from a bicycle, through motorbikes and vans, right up to a mobile post office the size of a caravan. Our volunteer reenactors are able to accompany these. Please ask for more details.

We have a recent arrival on site in the form of a battery powered track inspection trolley. This nippy vehicle seats two, one passenger and a supervisor, and is also available for hire. Passengers get to drive this vehicle over a short distance under the supervision .

Responsibility of insuring the pump trolley and participants falls to the hirer. We are able to provide template risk assessments and method statements and assist with any further documentation as required.
